Christie Frantz Sugarman Bio

A California native, Christie Sugarman started making jewelry in her teens.  While attending architectural school at the University of Colorado in Boulder, she apprenticed with a custom jeweler, trying to decide between two careers.  Architecture lost.

After college, she returned to California where she began creating her own innovative designs.  She has sold her creations at many national jewelry shows to stores across the United States, Caribbean, and Central America.  She has won multiple international design awards for her work.

Christie sees her work as wearable sculpture.  "I blends exceptional gems and diamonds with precious metals to create jewelry that both looks and feels beautiful."  The classical shapes and softened geometrics of her designs bring diamonds and richly colored gems into sharp focus.  Her designs bridge a breadth of ideas and experiences.  Architectural details including Gothic tracery and Art Deco lines are highlighted in her work.  Silky metal textures that spiral over clean angles and soft sweeping curves are trademarks of Christie's work.
